Market Speak

The following chart is a copy of a keyword search. It's just one of the tools that makes marketing  easier online.

Searches done in January 2005

Notice that in January 2005, this tool found that 36,627 searches were made for the term "massage therapist".

Based on  the formula I revealed in my previous post, marketing your service or product to potential clients, would mean about a .5% return. In this case that formula would look like this:

36,627 X .5% = 183 potential new customers/clients for the month of January 2005

At 1% that number doubles to 366

Based on these numbers, here's what the chart reveals.

1.) People are looking for massage therapists online.

2.) If you had a website to market to the folks already searching for you, you could have introduced your product, service, or educational information to 183 -366 potential clients!

But get this.

This search tool only recovers about 20% of the actual searches done, so you can multiply that number by 5!  That's 915 to 1830 potential customers/clients in one month!

Need I say more?

These are real numbers folks!

Get out of the box.

Stop listening to dinosaurs.

If you only got one tenth of 1% of these folks to your site, your still talking 36 - 37 potential customers.

Please stay with me here.  Right now these are just numbers. Yet, they're the same kind of numbers you face marketing in whatever fashion you do now.

The difference is how much time, money and effort it takes for you to get them.

Stay tuned folks, there's plenty more to come.

A Timely Resource

I was tooling about today, and found this article at Fortune.com: 10 Tech Trends: Why There Is No Escaping Blogs.

Interestingly, I had  come across two resources that I wanted to share with you anyway, and the article ties in nicely.

This rushes my plan a little, but why wait?  I'd love to see you all get rolling, and having a business website is a crucial step in generating continuous communication with your clients, and also for adding value through education and support products.

I know you are just sighing and rolling your eyes, but before you click off into a surf frenzy, consider this.

I AM NOT A TECH NERD!  I used this typepad blog format to reach you.   It's quite simple, and if you are reading this, you are looking at one of the most do-able formats for getting yourself online.

My friend, author and mentor Anrea Lee says, "let the process coach you".

If you just check this out you might find yourself surprised.  And that leads me to resource #1: typepad.com has a 30 day free trial right now.  If you just clink on this link, you can check it out for yourself.

Also, resource #2: along the same lines, 1and1.com is offering 6 FREE months use of their standard business website package. But this offer is only good until February 28, 2005.(Click here to go to 1and1.com)

I won't be offended if your still not interested, and of course feel free to vent your opposition if need be, yet as we move into techniques to keep your practice full and your income growing, you'll want a website. We'll go deeper into this later.

In the mean time, here's another question:

What is the most compelling question you have about launching a website?

And if you don't have or want a website:

What is the most significant reason you are opposed to this technology?

Comments of course can be left below, or email me at: rebelmassage@yahoo.com
